Description

Viorel ORDEANU, Gabriela COSTACHE, Luciana Mona GĂLĂȚANU

Biology recognizes that man as a mammal is neither carnivore nor herbivore, but omnivorous like many other animals, and the eating habits of humans are extremely varied and still similar. Apart from the main nutrients: carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, mineral salts and vitamins, of plant, animal, microbial or mineral origin, nutrition is influenced by feeling of hunger, accessibility, cultural preferences and taste. The healthy man is more omnivorous than he thinks and more connected to the other beings in nature than he can imagine. All this connection with nature means that man, through his usual nutrition, varied in quality and sufficient in quantity, but not in excess, has everything he needs for harmonious development and good physical, mental, intellectual and social functioning. The social role of nutrition, an opportunity for socialization and public exposure, should not be neglected either. Any exaggeration or deviation from the natural norm cannot be beneficial to the body, so we must be natural and in accordance with the environment and the society in which we live, and a balanced, varied and healthy diet can only be omnivorous, whatever the false nutritionists say . Hippocrates said that food has an important role in the occurrence of disease but also in its cure.
