Introduction: Dental aesthetic and minimally invasive therapies are also very popular nowadays. I purpose in this study to evaluate a minimal invasive procedure for debonding the veneers with laser Er, Cr: YSGG 2780 nm, Biolase SUA.
Materials and methods: We used for this study 10 human teeth extracted from the front maxillary and mandibulary area from the same pacient. The teeth had no carious lesions. Two groups were created, each including five teeth. The teeth from first group of samples were prepared conventionally with drill and the teeth from second group of samples were prepared with the laser Er, Cr: YSGG with wavelength 2780 nm. Emax Press (IvoclarVivadent) veneers were made in the laboratory and after verification they were cemented on each sample with the same material Variolink Esthetic LC (IvoclarVivadent), adhesion composite resin with a hight radio-opacity. For analysedthe layer of cement, a CBCT was made, before and after the de-bonding procedure. Laser Er, Cr: YSGG was used for de-bonding by photo-ablation process.
Results: We presented the images obtained at CBCT. On these images we measured the dimensions of the adhesive cement layer, height, thickness and length, in three points each. The averages were calculated for each of them and then the volume of adhesive cement. The measurements were made before and after the de-bonding procedure. The results were entered in the tables. We could see the layer of cement remains on the dental surface and a significant difference between cement volume before de-bonding and after debonding the veneers can be observed.
Conclusions: The procedure of laser Er, Cr: YSGG: 2780 nm photo-ablation is safe, minimally invasive, nontraumatic and fast protocol.
