Index Academic is a multidisciplinary academic platform managed by MultiMedia Publishing, bringing together two distinct and complementary components: the Index Academic Journal and Index Academic Repository.
The Index Academic Journal publishes original academic articles through its own editorial process and double-anonymous peer review, while Index Academic Repository provides a space for the archiving, organization, preservation, and dissemination of academic works and other research outputs.
The two components serve different functions but share the same objective: to increase the visibility, accessibility, identification, and preservation of research and academic outputs.

Manuscripts undergo editorial screening and double-anonymous peer review. Accepted articles are published open access, authors retain copyright, and works are distributed under the CC BY 4.0 license. Each published article is assigned an individual DOI.

Index Academic Repository is a multidisciplinary digital academic repository for the archiving, description, preservation, and dissemination of academic and research outputs.
Depending on the applicable rights, the Repository may host preprints, accepted manuscripts, published articles, conference papers, book chapters, research reports, working papers, theses and dissertations, educational materials, datasets, and other academic outputs.
Materials and metadata are reviewed before inclusion. Deposit of a document in the Repository does not constitute publication in the Index Academic Journal and does not automatically imply peer review. Documents that already have a DOI retain their original identifier, while certain original and stable materials without a DOI may be eligible for DOI assignment in accordance with the Repository DOI Policy.

Two Components, Two Academic Workflows
Journal publication and repository deposit serve different purposes.
Authors who seek peer review and publication of a work as an article in the Index Academic Journal use the journal’s editorial workflow.
Authors, researchers, or rights holders who seek archiving, preservation, and increased accessibility of a work or another academic output may use Index Academic Repository, subject to copyright, the original publisher’s policies, and the conditions applicable to the deposited version.
Where multiple versions of the same work exist — for example, a preprint, Accepted Author Manuscript, and Version of Record — they may be identified and linked through metadata while preserving a clear record of the document’s academic history.
