Depressive disorders, commonly encountered in young adults and students and characterized by constant psychological episodes of negative emotions such as hopelessness and sadness in a person’s life. In many international studies, approximately 10–30% of students experience depressive episodes and tendencies, with some even developing depressive disorders. After professionally translating the ODQ from English to Romanian, two questionnaires were prepared for physical and digital distribution. After carefully comparing the schedules of over 3000 students enrolled in all of the study programs provided by “Titu Maiorescu” University in Bucharest, the main group of selected participants was comprised of students from the Faculty of Dental Medicine and from students enrolled in the Faculty of Psychology. Unlike other studies in the field and on similar target groups, the percentage of medicated students is significantly lower, while the answers from the third segment showed almost equal proportions to certain statements, unlike internationally where the answers are more often than not oriented to either one of the extremes. Sending occasional questionnaires regarding emotional state before and during exam sessions can be the tool to better understand the problems college students face and a very important mechanism in keeping in check medically treated depressed individuals.
