Laparoscopic surgery has become in the last 20 years a routine intervention, the “golden” rule in the treatment of gallstones. Bladder lithiasis is a major public health problem requiring significant costs for its diagnosis and treatment. In the General Surgery Department of the Turceni City Hospital, laparoscopic cholecystectomy was performed after December 2015 with the purchase of the laparoscopy kit. Between 2015 and October 2021, 181 laparoscopic cholecystectomies and 23 conversions to classical cholecystectomy were performed due to the existence of a dangerous plastron, hemorrhage, impossible dissection or loss of stones in the abdominal cavity. Most conversions occurred after a simple inspection or minimum dissection (65.21%), having as causes the existence of a breastplate or the discovery of difficult anatomical situations. Less frequently the conversion occurred during the main time (378%), due to bleeding, impossible dissection or even at the end of the intervention, loss of bleeding or stones. The conversion rate depends on the correctness of the laparoscopic approach indication but also on the experience of the surgical team, which proves that it is a gesture of surgical maturity. , does not change morbidity and does not prolong with long hospitalization.
