The paper presents, in its first part, introductory elements that refer to the revision of the hip prosthesis. Also, the complex pathology leading to this surgery was presented. The disease of particles and the mechanisms that accompany this pathology specific to the hip prosthesis were highlighted. Next, the classification of acetabular bone defects and repair solutions was reviewed. Then, in order to evaluate the results of the surgical treatment, a retrospective clinical-statistical study was performed on a number of 23 patients hospitalized and operated in the Orthopedic Clinic of the Craiova County Emergency Clinical Hospital in an interval of eight years (2007- 2011). Different criteria were used to analyze this group of patients. Finally, important conclusions were drawn. This paper tries to bring to the fore the complicated pathological situations that occur due to the failure of hip prostheses and their replacement with overhaul prosthesis elements. Also, previously, different variants and solutions were analyzed to ensure a rapid recovery of the patient, with minimal sacrifice of bone material. The installation with a fragmented graft and reconstruction net was highlighted, which has all the elements to become a remarkable solution.
