The purpose of the paper is to show that there are situations in some clinical cases in which the best option of prosthetic treatment cannot be applied because economic factors or special situations (Covid virus pandemic) do not allow the patient these variants of treatment. Compromises a that can be made re analysed and what aspects will be taken into account in solving these cases.
Material and methods. There are three clinical cases in which the choice of a treatment option was influenced either by reluctance or fear of undergoing more extensive dental treatments during the Covid pandemic, or by economic factors that limited treatment options.
Results. Patients benefited from prosthetic restorations that restored the integrity of the affected dental arches and restored especially the masticatory function. A complete oral rehabilitation was not performed due to the listed factors and it was decided to stage the treatment depending on the severity of the situation, the evolutionary diagnosis of the case and the emotional or financial availability to follow the proposed treatments.
Conclusions. It is necessary to develop treatment options that take into account the emotional damage of patients in the pandemic and economic factors that may limit access to specialized treatments. In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, the availability of patients to present for prosthetic treatments was affected. The emergency situations required the presentation to the dentist, but if the dental problems were not an emergency, some of the patients preferred to postpone the dental treatments.
