Carcinoma of the hypopharynx represents the neoplasm with the most unfavorable prognosis among all ENT cancers, as it presents significant inferior submucosal extension. Another factor that contributes to the late presentation in advanced stages is the silence of the symptoms, which are manifested only when the tumor reaches large sizes and disrupts the functions of the hypopharynx. Treatment options are controversial as none of the available methods is superior in terms of survival.
