Along with the increase in the life expectancy of the population, there was also an increase in the pathology associated with the elderly. Alzheimer’s disease is considered the model of neuro-degenerative dementias that present cognitive and non-cognitive disorders. In the elderly population, Alzheimer’s disease has the highest incidence.
