Inserting orthodontic mini-screws is a critical aspect of orthodontic treatment, as proper insertion ensures stability and effectiveness in anchorage. Several techniques are utilized for the insertion of orthodontic miniscrews, each with its advantages and considerations. We are presenting the case of D.E., a 48-year-old female patient. The patient exhibits edentulism in the regions from teeth 4.7 to 4.5 and from 3.5 to 3.7. Clinical examination reveals the extrusion of teeth 1.6, 2.6, and 2.7. The treatment plan includes the restoration of masticatory function through the reintrusion and distalization of the overerupted molars due to the absence of their respective antagonists, followed by the placement of implants covered with crowns.
1. Understanding supra-erupted maxillary molars is crucial for restoring masticatory function effectively.
2. Modern insertion techniques for mini-screws offer less invasiveness and higher precision compared to traditional methods.
3. Missing teeth can lead to gingival recession, increase crown height, and occlusal changes, emphasizing the importance of timely intervention.
Overall, these findings contribute to a deeper comprehension of dental surgical management and enhance orthodontic treatment outcomes.
