Introduction. The study aims to analyze cases of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) diagnosed in the Emergency Department of Ilfov County Emergency Clinical Hospital, from January 2022 to December 2022, batch of 50 patients.
Objectives and methodology. Monitoring of clinical-biological parameters; Epidemiological aspects and risk factors; patient care in IMA. Information sources: observation sheets; discharge documents.
Results and discussion. Male sex, urban environment and age between 36-67 years were dominant. Risk factors: smoking, obesity, dyslipidemia, diabetes, hypertension. Anterior location of high lateral MI (40%), posterior inferior MI 36%. Most patients had Killip class I, and 18 patients had Forrester class I. Most were admitted within the first 6 hours of onset, the optimal window for initiating coronary reperfusion therapy. High specificity in the diagnosis of AMI: CK–MB, troponins. Treatment includes pain relief drugs, antiplatelet and anticoagulant therapy. 22 patients underwent an intervention – angioplasty in the coronary arteries. 92% patients had a favorable evolution, favorable recovery, regaining independence.
Conclusions. The incidence of acute myocardial infarction is increasing, and through this retrospective study we wanted to highlight the importance of detection in the earliest possible stages in order to be able to act in time.
