In the digital age of the 21st century, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a crucial tool across various domains, including the pharmaceutical industry. This paper explores the integration of AI in drug development and manufacturing processes, highlighting the associated benefits and challenges. The study focuses on the use of the AI software SwissADME to compare the efficacy of Minoxidil and Sildenafil in the treatment of alopecia. Minoxidil, known for its vasodilatory properties, has demonstrated significant efficacy in promoting hair growth, being welltolerated and having a favorable safety profile. In contrast, Sildenafil, although effective in treating erectile dysfunction, has not shown conclusive results in promoting hair growth in pilot studies. The pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic analysis conducted with SwissADME highlighted significant differences between the two substances, underscoring the limited potential of Sildenafil for topical use in alopecia. The findings suggest that Minoxidil remains the preferred treatment for alopecia due to its proven efficacy and superior safety profile nevertheless Sildenafil remains a further studies interest in treatment of alopecia. The integration of AI in pharmaceutical research promises to optimize drug discovery and development processes, offering innovative and personalized solutions for patients
