PSYCHOHISTORICAL REFLECTIONS ON THE ORIGINS OF NATIONS: BETWEEN THE BIBLE AND ACADEMIC SCIENCE

ABSTRACT

The article explores the origins of nations as an intersection between biblical narrative (Genesis 10–11, the dispersion from Babel), empirical science (genetics, linguistics, archaeology), and psychohistory, with a focus on the Tiras-Carpathian space of Moldova. Starting from the distinction between traditional history (linear causality based on archives) versus psychohistory (transgenerational weaves, collective traumas following deMause, Redlich, Lifton, Turchin), the analysis integrates V. Lefebvre’s reflexive framework. Here, social actors construct recursive levels of mutual anticipation (“what does he think I believe?”), generating unstable identity games in the absence of higher reflection. In the Moldovan context, Balcano-Carpathian genetic constants (dominant haplogroup I2a-M423, R1a, R1b, E-V13) confirm a shared Thracian-Dacian-Getic substrate with Romanians, supporting demographic continuity from the Cucuteni-Trypillia era and Indo-European/Slavic migrations. These empirical data intertwine with symbolic biblical archetypes (post-diluvian unity broken at Babel) and psychohistorical images (“border people,” “fugitives in the forest”).

The article proposes reflexive Nash equilibria for defusing identity escalations, integrating the Bible as a psychological archetype, genetics as empirical probability, and strategic reflection in East European geopolitical security. The result is a hybrid model for conflict prevention, recognizing historical traumas (Ottoman, Slavic, imperial invasions) and common constants, favoring shared legitimacy in the transborder space.

REZUMAT

Articolul explorează originile națiunilor ca intersecție între narațiunea biblică (Geneza 10–11, dispersia de la Babel), știința empirică (genetică, lingvistică, arheologie) și psihoistoria, cu accent pe spațiul nistreano-carpatic al Moldovei. Pornind de la distincția istorie tradițională (cauzalitate liniară bazată pe arhive) versus psihoistorie (trame trans generaţionale, traume colective după deMause, Redlich, Lifton, Turcin), analiza integrează cadrul reflexiv al lui V. Lefevr. Aici, actorii sociali construiesc niveluri recursive de anticipare reciprocă („ce crede el că cred eu?”), generând jocuri identitare instabile în absența reflecției superioare. În context moldovenesc, constante genetice balcanico-carpatic (haplo grupuri I2a-M423 dominant, R1a, R1b, E-V13) confirmă un substrat traco-daco-gețic comun cu românii, susținând continuitate demografică din epoca Cucuteni-Tripolie și migrații indo-europene-slavice. Aceste date empirice se împletesc cu arhetipuri biblice simbolice (unitate post- diluviană ruptă la Babel) și imagini psihoistorice („popor de graniță”, „fugari în pădure”).

Articolul propune echilibre reflexive Nash pentru dezamorsarea escaladelor identitare, integrând Biblie ca arhetip psihologic, genetică ca probabilitate empirică și reflexie strategică în securitate geopolitică est-europeană. Rezultă un model hibrid pentru prevenirea conflictelor, recunoscând traume istorice (invazii otomane, slave, imperiale) și constante comune, favorizând legitimitate partajată în spațiul transfrontalier.
